बच्चों के अध्ययन पर दिशाओं का प्रभाव - जिन विद्यार्थियों का अध्ययन कक्ष वायव्य कोण में होता है, उनके मन में उच्चाटन की प्रवृत्ति होती है। अर्थात उनका मन पढ़ाई में नहीं लगता है और बेचैन हो जाता है। निश्चित ही ऐसे विद्यार्थी मन लगाने के लिए घर से बाहर जाएंगे और नई-नई मित्रता तलाश करेंगे। वायव्य कोण में अध्ययन करने वाले बच्चों के मित्रों पर माता-पिता को नजर रखनी चाहिए। संगत न बिगड़े यह जरूरी है, परंतु माता-पिता को ऐसे मामलों में प्रतिभाशाली बच्चों से मिलने जुलने की अनुमति दे देनी चाहिए। कोशिश करें कि बच्चे अपने से ऊंची मेरिट वाले बच्चों से ही मिले उनके साथ मिलना जुलना और उन्हें अपने घर लाकर उनके साथ अध्ययन करना बच्चों के लिए फायदेमंद भी होगा और उन्हें नई ऊर्जा प्राप्त होगी। उत्तर दिशा में मुंह करके पढ़ना श्रेष्ठ माना गया है। माता-पिता को चाहिए कि किसी ऐसे दीवार के सहारे जिसमे खिङकी हो बच्चे को एक टेबल कुर्सी व उसके ऊपर टेबल लैंप लगा कर दें।

परीक्षा के पहले की विशेष सावधानियां - विद्यार्थी यथासंभव उत्तर में अथवा पूर्व में मुंह करके बैठे। उच्च शिक्षा प्राप्त कर रहे बच्चों की एकाग्रता भंग होने की स्थिति में उन्हें पॉकेट ट्रांजिस्टर दिया जाना चाहिए या लिविंग रूम में टेलीविजन पर सूचना देने वाले चैनल देखने की आज्ञा दी जानी चाहिए। ब्रह्म स्थान में अध्ययन एवं शयन वर्जित है। उत्तर दिशा या ईशान कोण में उत्तर दिशा में मुंह करके अध्ययन करना ठीक होता है, परंतु परीक्षा से ठीक 1 सप्ताह पहले अपने पूर्व या दक्षिण में स्थापित हो जाना लाभ प्रदान करता है। नैत्रत्य कोण में केवल उन्हीं बच्चों को स्थान दिया जाए, जो बहुत संस्कारित हो और पिता के प्रति निष्ठा वाले और माता के प्रति निष्ठा वाले हैं। यहां बच्चों के जिद्दी हो जाने की आशंका रहती है। अग्नि कोण में शयन उचित नहीं है। केवल अध्ययन के लिए 4 घंटे बिताए जा सकते हैं। यंत्रों के साथ अध्ययन करना अग्नि कोण में उचित रहता है। सलाहकार बनने के लिए किए जाने वाले अध्ययन भी अग्नि कोण में अच्छे माने जाते हैं, बाकी सभी मामलों में पश्चिम दिशा ही श्रेष्ठ है।
